The statement reverberates off walls and ceiling tiles...!

 Location: Seoul, Korea

 The Comment

After sampling local wines and traditional Korean drinks my good friend decides to compliment one of our guests.   He states quite clearly and emphatically:

"I'm so glad you are NOT skinny!".

The Effect

1.  Day turns to night as lights dim, the restaurant darkens

2.  Patrons abandon their meals and begin to pile out

3.  Live music stops as the band begins to pack up

4.  The salad wilts and the wine sours

5.  Birds stop singing...

Our lady guest grates the following phrase through clenched teeth, non-moving lips:

"WHAT ...DID ...YOU... SAY!?"

My head, shaking like a bobble-head doll, I try to warn him...

 Oblivious to life he cheerfully replies:

"I SAID....

 

"I am so glad you are NOT skinny...!"

Quick, Think For Your Life...!

1.  He had his brain cooked while tanning on the beach

2.  He is actuallly allergic to rice and may die on his own

3.  He has $10,000 cash and is willing to pay-to-live

4.  He is willing to accept any form of punishment.

The Solution

Since I know my friend can not drink Korean Soju, I immediately open two bottles of soju suggesting that he finish both bottles as punishment.

My friend, eyes bouncing like a turkey's windpipe at a gobble fest, grabs both bottles and drains them at the same time...

...pause...

 

...a bird chirps...

Walking backwards like wounded gun slingers, we retreat very slowly from the restaurant ...and survive!

2.  Ensure that you have a safe drive home 

3.  Keep conversation at a simplistic level when on a first date and drinking Korean soju..
